Hi all,

I wanted to see the direct difference between modified and unmodified sensors myself.

Conditions are:

Same nightsky with close time

Sky: Bortle 5

Exposure length: 60 sec

ISO: 6400

Filter: SV220 7nm Dual-Band 2 inch

Telescope: TS 360/60 APO with 1x corrector

Mount: SW SA 2i

Target altitude: 30 degree above horizon

Post process: STF Autostretch unlinked

The unmodded sensor will always need more time. The image below was taken with an unmodded D5300 and a dual band filter. It was marred mostly by not enough time, and because my friend who took it forgot to dither. wink.gif

Yes in my case I did not expect this much of a difference since the Z6 has bigger pixels but D5300 smash it.

It seems that I need at least 1.5x to 2x more time to match so I will keep using my Z6 for timelapse and Widefield milkyway shots
