in an act of defiance I set up a scope last night and was able to observe through the gaps between the clouds. I tested 25mm, 13mm, 11mm and 7mm eyepieces. waytogo.gif  sometimes you just have to get pushy. lol.gif

When I purchased my first telescope, I had to wait 1 whole month to go outside and get my first light. Meanwhile I learned how to assemble it

Yep, I bought my first telescope in late winter/early spring, and I had to wait a few months to use it to due the phenomenon of cloudy nights assured upon the purchase of new astro gear. I also borrowed some equipment from my local astro club, and guess what phenomenon hit again?

I haven't bought another telescope since last year but that didn't stop the weather from being a bit on the damp side in my area this spring and summer.

At least they're not textbook perfect and you're nursing a torn rotator cup....

No need to  do any kind of weather-altering efforts, from cloud-seeding to geoengineering. Just get someone in the region to buy a new scope.

Don't come to Washington State with new equipment. Bad combination.
