SharpCap has a capture area selection feature in camera settings, allowing taking smaller images for small targets using large frame sensors. Does anyone know of any other capture software that offers this feature?

That's common to all planetary imaging software I've seen (i.e. FireCapture and SharpCap).  It's called ROI - Region of Interest.  By selecting a small area of the sensor (like where a planet is) you can increase the frame rate substantially. This is of great importance when imaging planets and counteracting the atmosphere.  You could do this for DSO imaging... but take care not to reduce the bit depth - I believe its common to reduce bit depth to 8-bits for planetary work as well.  That wouldn't be good for DSOs.

I was hoping that NINA would do it but it does not. That's the one I've used and learned the most as of now. I did message Stephan Berg the creator of NINA and asked it it might be coming down the road.

NINA can already do Subframe (ROI) captures.

I just found the ROI setting in the "Take Subframe Exposure" instruction in advanced sequencer. So I will have to use it inside a Loop to get many exposures with that ROI. Thanks for the feedback.
