I am planning to order a Farpoint Collimation Kit. The Farpoint 2" collimation kit costs $388 compared to $255 for the 1.25" collimation kit. If I use my Glatter Parallizer 2" to 1.25" adapter on the 1.25" collimation kit am I saving $133 and achieving equally good collimation as the 2" collimation kit? My most commonly used eyepiece is an Explore Scientific 2" 24mm 82 degree.

Yes.
But be very careful. This vendor is a bit flaky.
Make sure you add a note that you MUST NOT be charged before it ships.
And verify that it is in stock before ordering.
You have a reasonable chance of getting the order.

Stargeezer. Thanks for the warning about Farpoint. Many moons ago and a telescope ago, I ordered a Bahtinov Mask from Farpoint and had no problems. I didn't realize that they can be flaky.

You can buy the kit on Amazon for $178. Cheaper than on the Farpoint website. All the prices there have risen dramatically. (Note that Amazon shows the graphic for the 1.25"/2" collimator, not the 1.25"kit) Buy soon. I bought the 2" Chesire, and waited too long to buy the 1.25/2" collimator. Now they are gone from Amazon and only available on the Farpoint website at a much higher price. So don't delay.

Waterman. I wish you hadn't told me that I can save $77 by buying from Amazon. I'd rather support Farpoint by buying from them directly, but $77 is a fair chunk of cash.

I'm sure Farpoint listed their older stock on Amazon to move them along. Now their new stock is at a higher price on their own website. Either way, Farpoint still gets the money.

Amazon will protect you in case FarPoint doesn't deliver. In this particular case, consider yourself fortunate that you have the Amazon option - I'd use it.

Just as an FYI. Both my Farpoint orders were shipped rapidly by U.S. Mail.
