Is there something wrong? I get a message now that there is a threat.

It’s also the main page. Who knows maybe it’s done. Originally Attilla did want it to die with him. He’s gone so maybe now the CSC is too. Nothing is forever.

The Clear Sky Chart has been on again, off again for at least a couple of days now. At the moment, it seems to be working.

Yes, I am familiar with it. But, “a threat?” A message of a threat? Threat of what? Sounds very ominous.
And the second post. “It’s also the main page. Who knows maybe it’s done. Originally Attilla did want it to die with him. He’s gone so maybe now the CSC is too. Nothing is forever.”
Now I know what he is talking about. But Attilla? All I could think of was Atilla the Hun. The owner of Clear Sky Chart is/was named Atilla? Someone actually named their child Atilla?

It is more than likely that the site certificate has timed out. It happens. Some browsers don't like things to not be perfect. Here is the info if you click on "Advanced":
Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for www.cleardarksky.com. The certificate is only valid for mail.cleardarksky.com.
Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

Thanks, Dave. He certainly will be missed. Certainly seems like a good guy. I guess I was a little slow on this topic.
I gotta say though, with that helmet in his obit photo, he does bear more than a passing resemblance to a Hun.

Attila is an extremely popular name in Hungary. If that seems odd, I might point out that Iranians feel about Alexander the Great exactly as Europeans feel about Attila the Hun.

You lost me. Do Europeans have positive feelings about Attila the Hun and Iranians have the same for Alexander?

WillR:
Alexander conquered Persia (Iran). He is not remembered fondly by Persians (Iranians).

Hey everyone, I just wanted to note that you can still access Clear Sky Charts by simply dropping the 's' from the "https" portion of the domain. So for example: http://www.cleardark...Seattlekey.html
It looks like the SSL certificate for the site has either expired or been misconfigured, which is why browsers are throwing up warnings. Sometimes this happens when a certificate isn’t renewed properly, or if there's an error during setup. Browsers also tend to cache certificates, which can make the issue seem intermittent or persist longer than expected.
Normally, it’s not ideal to visit non-SSL (http) sites. But in this case, since Clear Sky Charts doesn’t collect personal information and has been a trusted tool in the community for years, it’s generally safe to continue using it. Just make sure you’re not entering any sensitive data—like credit card info—on the site (I'm pretty sure that isn't possible anyways).

I just noticed that the clear sky chart for my area (Madison) hasn't updated since yesterday. I hope this breaking is only temporary.

It's working fine for me.
Just need to click "Advanced" and "Accept the Risk".
All better.
