Howdy folks. I've been thinking about getting back to simple DSLR imaging using my AP-modded Canon SL3 and MSM Nomad tracker. In the past, I've used a couple '70's vintage Zuiko lenses, manual 50mm and 135mm. They have served me well (and still do) but I think it might be time to invest in some newer lens tech. I expect to purchase 24mm, 50mm and 135mm lenses. Both Sigma and Artisan brands have had some good reviews, the price points seem equitable and neither seem to have any overwhelming advantage over the other for AP. So, just looking for opinions from those on CN who have used either brand. The gotchas, glitches and the good points if you have a moment to share. Thanks.

I have owned a lot of Sigma lenses over the years in 3 mounts, Pentax KAF, Canon EOS and Minolta (now Sony) A, up to and including the massive Sigma 1000mm F8 APO and lots of 300mm F2.8 lenses of multiple brands. Right now I do not own any Artisan lenses although I do have some Irix, Meike, and Rokinon. I used to use exclusively DPReview for lens ratings but now there are a few internet reviewers who have established good cred with photographers around the world. The standard lens I use on my APS-C Sony A6400 is the Meike 33mm F1.4. A superbly sharp lens that was available new for only a little north of $100 and with the  crop factor FOV of a 50mm lens it works very good for that. I do have a Rokinon 85mm F1.4 I bought more for AP than its original purpose of being a portrait lens. I don't currently own a 24mm lens but I can recommend the Sigma 24mm F1.4. Its half the price of the superb Sony 24/1.4 and as long as you stop it down to F2,8 the sharpness is about the same plus the FOV is very flat.

Thanks for the interesting info. Somehow I missed the Meike brand and will have to give it a good look too. They appear to have a good spread of apertures and f/stops.
