Is the H beta supposed to look a bit patchy?
Need a guide as to which wavelength specific features to look for when viewing images with elements such as Mg or higher energy H wavelengths like H beta

Yes hbeta looks like ha off band leaf like surface
Notice bright area in ha go dark in hbeta
Higher hydrogen lines look like hbeta but dimmer
Mg similar to cak but more subtle
Most metals except sodium look like a cak but dimmer

How do you know which spectral line is what? I can only recognize Halpha and CaK on my SHG…
