My mak delivers far superior clarity on moon, than my dob.

That's odd! I wonder what's wrong with your Dob.

Your sig says that your Dob has 10 inches of aperture and your Mak just 7 inches. On a night of good seeing, there's no way a 7-inch scope can possibly compete with a 10-incher unless the 10-incher is defective in some way.

Possible explanations are that the Dob has an inferior mirror, is inadequately cooled or collimated, or that you never get seeing good enough to allow the extra aperture to do its thing.

Many people, including myself, have attached a StarSense device to their existing telescope, and I should have known better, but I was experimenting.

The issue with this technology is that it can be counterproductive to visual astronomy.

To fully enjoy stargazing, it is recommended to be dark-adapted before viewing through a telescope. However, using your cellphone prevents you from achieving that state.

I would choose a different instrument without it.
