Hi everyone, in the hobby for a few decades.

Had before a CPC1100 made USA 2008, all worked great, decent optics too.

Sold it years ago to a fellow in NM. Why? getting too heavy for me.

Wanted to ask if anyone tested the China-made CPC 800 or 925  ( non-HD)

model  fork mounted   model.

Have you tried to do a  star test?

Is star test in and out of focus good to show same diffraction pattern on both sides of focus?

Test it with NO diagonal , as they can introduce errors, if you test with method below:

STAR TEST + COLLIMATION TEST even if cloudy:
Aluminum foil 10x10in or 16x16in or similar size, place the tiniest pinhole in center.
Place semi-transparent paper ( parchment paper used in cooking is ok) behind hole.
Place flashlight or light bulb behind, use bright light if possible behind area of hole .
( Function of the paper is to diffuse light evenly behind hole. )
Try also without paper if you need brighter "star".
Place as far as you can from the Objective , 300 feet or more.
Test around sunset time or after.
Or earlier in the day? Place sheet in the shade , along with your scope in shade too to avoid glare around your eyes.
