The sun in Ha is a bit sad these days. This morning the one GONG site giving a relatively recent, and decent, image shows little in the way of proms, plages, and filaments:

Even their image has been expressing its sadness (see the highlighted section - credit due to CN member Siderius for first noting this waytogo.gif ).

So this morning I just concentrated on WL imaging. While on the full disk there isn't that much to see, when you zoom in things get interesting. To do that, I've been using a triple 2X Barlow assembly, seen in the picture above. Yes, this consists of three 2X Barlows stacked one on top of the other. I decided to go straight for that, instead of the intermediate double Barlow setup, because .... why not!

Here are the results:

The full disk was from a single Barlow, single snapshot (postprocessed in GIMP). The closeups are processed from 30s videos. Seeing was a bit better than yesterday.

Nice!  I'm hoping for a long enough break to just get a Seestar shot!

Great images. Gary I don't know how you get enough light to go through with 3 of them.  I am comparing the Baader Barlow to the 2.5 Powermate currently on magnification.  But what you are doing is crazy good.

Thanks a lot - appreciate it! waytogo.gif

There's plenty of light. In fact, for AR 4113, 4114, and 4116 I set the DSLR to a shutter speed of 1/500s with an ISO of 1600. For AR4110 and 4111 I used 1/320s and an ISO of 800.

Thanks Dale! They came out pretty well today, I think.
