Hi all - I'm sharing this while I'm investigating, since any discussion will help others in future.

I use ASIAIR on all my rigs right now, and typically keep 2 images from each target on the USB sticks that I save to - however, with multiple ASIAIRs and frequent swaps between cameras and OTAs, the image may not be on the USB stick that I am about to use. In the past I've been able to copy files from my long term storage back onto the USB stick and use those in ASIAIR to go back to the image for another session.

I wanted to capture more subs for a target that I captured last year. I loaded a couple of the subs onto the USB stick in a newly named folder. In the ASIAIR, from Preview, I then opened one of the files and selected "goto". This normally works instantly. However this time it put up a spinner saying "platesolving" and a seconds counter that just climbed indefinitely. After over a minute I canceled. Other images that were already on the USB stick were "good", i.e:

- With "good" files, I was able to "detect" (display star sizes), "annotate" (display object names) and goto (go to the target, report wrong rotation and provide guidance to correct the rotation).

- With "bad" files, I could "detect" but annotate and goto both displayed spinners indefinitely and never completed.

My guess is ASIAIR is not actually platesolving the old image, it's trying to read platesolve information that was previously stored in the file, and has somehow been deleted. I read that if Pixinsight opens and saves the file it will delete the platesolve information and then ASIAIR won't be able to "platesolve" it. However the affected files are from my "originals" which I don't change when processing. I also don't stack in PI, I use APP.

Any clues, thoughts or remedies will be appreciated.
