are there more people here on this forum, who suffer from this? Can you - for example - still do some observing during these days? Or do you live even further north or very far south?

I feel you! I suspect you're near Oslo, like me.
I spend the summertime shopping for new gear, observing the sun or going further south where it's actually dark.

In any case - Every hobby is better off with a regular period of downtime, in my opinion. When August comes around you'll be stunned once more by the objects you love, having had the time to miss them.

Another person from Norway with a Duck-avatar - what a coincidence!

You're right about what you said: I looked at the Moon last night and I enjoyed it more than usual, as I had not observed for a about a month.

Another downside of observing in Norway during the summer: 'Knott' (don't know the english word for it: very little flies who are eating you alive.) is really anoying. Living in Agder btw.

Gnats are tiny little insects that swarm around your face on a hot day.

Pronounced "nat" with a short "a" like "hat".

This is the 'longest day' on South Pole Station, a large Antarctic scientific station. 'Longest day' means 24/7 darkness for months and they celebrated midwinter on June 20.
