Hello!

I just purchased a "new to me" Celestron 9.25 SCT with VMX mount.  It came with an assortment of accessories, including what looks like a Meade camera.  I can't find any information on it, and I am trying to get the correct software or device drivers to make it work.  Any thoughts on the attach picture of it?

Original Deep Sky Imager, I believe.  They date back at least 20 years, so compatibility may not be optimal, depending on updates, version(s), etc.

Best wishes.

Considering the advancement in cameras and likely compatibility issues, probably not particularly worth pursuing. If you really want to take pictures, I would get something newer. Probably more rewarding and less frustrating.

Agreed. I have one of these cameras still. And unfortunately, the drivers do not work on windows 11. I have the envisage software For Windows 7 but that's the latest that they had available.

As already mentioned it’s an original “Meade DSI” I still have one originally bought about 20 years ago. It’s really only a glorified web cam. Notice the huge chip size. I never got much use out of it the software was very amateurish. It makes a good paper weight. As already stated buy a new cam you won’t regret it.

Thanks all!!  I thought it was outdated...I am now the proud owner of a Meade paperweight

I want to be able to take pictures just for a keepsake...nothing on the grand scale of astrophotography

If you need it i shared the Envisage software to my OneDrive folder.  You can try it but if you are running Windows 11 it may or may not work.  The link is here:

Plug it into a Windows XP computer and it will probably display its name and it might even run on a generic driver. It will work like a high amplification eyepiece because it only uses a tiny bite out of your view.

I think it gives a view equivalent to a 7mm eyepiece.
