Hi,
somehow i got the filters better tuned the more i use the setup. Today was really nice seeing, at least early in the morning when all is still cool and in balance. Here are some of the best shots of the imaging session.
I think i need even a bit smaller pixels for this..

To call these images 'spectacular' is to do them an injustice! bow.gif bow.gif bow.gif waytogo.gif applause.gif applause.gif applause.gif

These are excellent Dennis!  You do have something strange going on in a number of the shots that look a bit like pieces of Newton Rings but can’t figure out what might be causing them.

Yes, I saw those too. Almost parallel bands ...

Exciting images.

Lucky you live far off, or I would be knocking on your door to tune my 80mm scope!
That would then take me to the next step of unreasonable aperture fever.

Great images, but perhaps it might help if you directly. posted attached as few reduced size versions.

Thanks all, yes the camera is heavy on newton rings, even with lots of tilt. Have to see how to adress it best.

I could do that but the point of them is that you can zoom into them since the resolution. Reducing the file size would equal reducing details down some inches of aperture.

Its basically 2 Lunt 40 etalons rear mounted in a telecentric beam. You can find more info on different peoples implementations of it on dedicated "Solar-chats" or even here on the forum.

Took me quite some time, readup and experimenting to make it work well though.

Stunning images as always!

It's funny that Newton rings only show up in the lower middle of your image. Almost looks like a smudged fingerprint. I would check all your glass.

Thanks James.

Yup, thats how the stacking software works. Almost all rings but the strongest are processed out by it.

As a beginner I found the newton ring in this interesting. I have not seen any yet and had up until now only description of them. So thanks for sharing them :) While an error it dont really ruin the image for what it show. And thanks for tech tip search!

Doesnt ruin it for me, too : )

Its just another small thing to optimize on my solar imaging journey.
