The constellation Hercules is large, so much so that the Flamsteed stars run into the 100's. Please see my previous post about this.

The southeast corner is a busy and perplexing place for skywatchers.  Hercules here borders Ophiuchus, Aquila, Sagitta, Vulpecula and Lyra. The southeast corner brushes up against the Milky Way and contains rich star fields.

I hope this post will encourage you to explore this complicated area, to view with admiration and delight the glorious works herein.

Good stuff. I have not lingered in this area before, having concentrated on the areas in and around Lyra.

Magnificent reports and images, Ray. waytogo.gif

You and Van Jan are way ahead of the rest of us.

But you both encourage the rest of us to do some wonderful double star observing.

Very best regards from Aubrey.
