I found a second-hand PiFinder 2 for about 250 euro.

My questions about it:
Does someone know how old this model is and what the differences are between this model and the newest (V3) model?

Another question:
When looking at the European website of Pifinder, I can order a DIY-kit, but have no experience to put these kind of things (printed circuit boards) together. But maybe it's very easy to assemble?

Not a big deal to upgrade, but not necessary either.   The software does not require a hardware upgrade,  the smaller lense is just more convenient.  I would take the deal.  If you want to upgrade - here is what is in the kit:

I'm not sure what the costs are to get it to the EU.

The casing and the camera and objective (which is more bulky and slightly less sensitive, although it does accept other C-mount lenses). Oh, and the symbols on the front plate but that's irrelevant and Mike Rosseels can get you a new frontplate.

You can also order them assembled.

Mike will get back to you if you fill in the form.
