These are the ep's/visual accessories I have for the two scope that I do use. The Fatboy may become a boat anchor very soon BTW.

40mm Plossl
32mm Plossl
25mm Plossl
25mm Explorer II
12mm Celestron Lanthanum Plossl
10mm Explorer II
9mm Plossl
2X Barlow
F/6.3 Celestron Focal Reducer
Meade 10% Moon Filter
Orion Variable Polarizer
Celestron LPR filter

My viewing tastes are rather eclectic: they range from dso's(my fave) to planetary, and the moon. Please review my list, and tell me what you think I need. Before you go there though, Nagler's, Panoptics, etc are too pricey for me. If I get one o' them, I need to give up on certain luxuries like food fuel, rent, utilities, etc. Help me out please,. Pete

You've got a good range of mags there, and some decent filters too. Have you thought about slapping a solar filter on the front of the Nexstar and using it in the daytime?

If you like looking at planets, how'bout a set of color filters? Or a variable color filter (like the one Sirius makes?)?
Otherwise, it looks like a very extensive lineup you have. If you like using the LPR filter on deep-sky, maybe you would like an OIII for planetary nebulae?

How about some clear skies and an excellent seeing!
That is really all you need! Cost zip nada nothing.

If you want to buy filters I would not start with colour filter but buy an UHC or O-III filter for better DSO viewing as nebulas! First choise would be an UHC.

Then again if you have no money to spend, buy yourself a good bottle of beer and settle down in the garden next to your scope for some fine times watching the sky!

cheers!
Bonzo

You seem very well equiped so I would flesh things out just a wee bit with an ortho or two, a TV powermate (not the barlow) and if you are really flush with money - a binoviewer. Then you can double up on your collection. :D

Pete,
I'd add a #21 orange filter and an Orion Ultrablock Narrowband filter.

Pete, that's a good looking line-up, especially with your barlow. How do you like your barlow? Does it dim your view at all when you use it? If you want to start optimizing your EP set, consider a high-quality barlow first and then figure out what combination you use the most. Which EP are you thinking you need?

Tim 2723, Baader's Film is definitely in the works.

Matt & Tina, color filters & a narrowband are in my plans.

Bonzo, several and many beers!!

Ron, I'd like a powermate, but gotta go against the grain, and actually SAVE for that.

Tom L, I don't notice much dimming with my barlow at all. About the ep, I'm thinking 18-20mm. About that avatar, you're a brave man! My cat took a look, and fled in mortal terror, hissing, and howling! :roflmao: Just pulling your chain on that one, guy. Thank you all for your help. Pete Tell y'all why I don't post my pic as my avatar: I don't want to have to pay for all the shattered monitors!:roflmao:
