Here's my latest attempt at Rosette Nebula. I made a color mapping using synthetic green channel. Red is representing H-alpha, Blue OIII and green is a product of Ha and OIII.

Mod Canon EOS350d, Skywatcher ED80 Pro & WO0.8x reducer, Astronomik 13nm Ha & OIII filters. Orion SVP mount guided with ST80 and Toucam Pro II. 1h Ha, 1h30m OIII at ISO800. All processing done in IRIS.

Very nice -- it looks like this technique yields very sharp images with vivid colors.

Excellent image!

It looks like your imaging routine worked very well on this target.

The color looks great and there is alot of detail in the nebula.

Well, well, well, just fabulous! :bigshock:

I immediately went to your blog and bookmarked it and this thread as well.

It is great to see what a craftman like you can do with the
ED80, SVP & Canon 350. Most of the DSOs in S&T's Beautiful Universe magazine are listed as having been shot with the likes of great RCO's and TEC's on $10,000 mounts. Meanwhile you have a stunning image here that the majority of amatures can really aspire too. Thanks for sharing and leading the way.

Another outstanding image. For AP, seems to me that aperture is not necessarily a limiting factor.

An ispiration for us AP newbies.
