Hi all.
First light tonight...well sorta.....Still building the observatory and still learning about the scope. But had enough of the deck done and pier poured, so that the scope
could be mounted. Just had to do a powerup and look see.
I have posted more images at the link below. I hope to eventually detail more info on this page, but for right now it's a quick way to post images. If all goes well hope to have the dome inclosed in the nest week or two.:jump:

Looking good! What's going on top, a pre-manufactured commercial dome, or are you making the dome yourself?

The dome itself will be a home made metal dome. With a 30"
shutter to match the door way. I am still working out the
rotational details but, hope to start on the dome this weekend.

There is nothing that will put a smile on your face
faster than a dome going up in your backyard.
Progress is slow but steady.
Should pick up the wall metal Monday. Wednesday for the
gores.

Hi,
Looks like you are off to a great start. What kind of saw are you using for your rounded cuts? Circular saw or skill saw?
Best regards,
Mike

I am using a jigsaw with a really nasty toothed bosch blade.
