Here's a shot of my favorite dark nebula, Le Gentil 3, taken with a Nikon D810a and 85mm lens:

This was processed with the heurestic method.

Very nice.  There are lots of faint nebulas in this area.

Do you feel the 85mm/F2 good enough for D810A's resolution?

Cheers,

Wei-Hao

Hi Wei-Hao,

Thank you.

Yes, if you stop it down enough...

Jerry,

Nice picture.

I have a question about your processing; I notice you used ImagesPlus.  I'm not getting good flat fielding results with my D810A and IP, but I noticed you converted to tiffs using Adobe Camera Raw.  In other words, you did not let IP handle the .NEFs.  Can I ask why you chose that workflow?  And did you use flats in your processing?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Hi Dick,

I processed a lot of different shots from the Nikon D810a in several different ways to test the camera for the review I'm doing for Sky & Telescope.
