They didn't say but it's going to be competitive to QHY

It does look rather large. Man I'd love to have one of these.   I hope they are all they are billed to be, and more! :)

The reason why it's larger is because of the cooling capacity. This one does -50C. They said they are going to offer other chips in this body as well such as 8300. The 383L currently does -40C

Well I like that, especially if the price will be competitive with the QHY!! I'd love to be able to stay at -20C year round. I have to go to -10C in the Summer with my STF. I've already seen a few nights where I couldnt get to -20C shortly after dark, including tonight.

Cool.  The body looks gigantic.  Are there extra USB ports, power ports etc for peripheral equipment?

Don't know much about cooling, but if such a large box is for extra cooling capacity, why not go further, maybe water cooled or some other means to bring it down further? Are we at the limit of cooling capacity at the amateur level?

I ask because although I have a small 1/3 chip, it only has a tiny fan and housing, and I could push it to -45c if I want to.

Any more news on this camera? Predicted availability? Price? Filter configurations offered (internal versus external wheels, etc.)

Its nice that someone came out with a 16200 without a filter wheel but man that body is big 4" x 4" or 5" x 5" maybe?.  I also wonder if it would be time better spent working on getting some of the new APS CMOS chips into cameras.  The read/dark noise and QE gap is becoming pretty big.

Now if only they'd make one with an internal filter wheel like the Atik One series ...

(Yeah, I'm spoiled!)

It is large but it's not as heavy as it looks. No extra USB ports

Yeah we are spoiled with QSI having internal 8 position FWs. Unfortunately when you move up to these larger sensors, I am not sure this is possible. I used to have a 583 with a internal 5 position FW and I wished I have an 8 position FW.

I've got a 5 position internal wheel right now ... it's good enough for narrowband. Actually, I'm only using 4 of the positions - I can't figure out what to put into the 5th spot!   So I'd be happy with a 5 position wheel with a 16200 chip.
