30% is not a good bet!

But keep in mind that the issue isn't a (so-called) "copy" of a mind, absent memories...it is a dead machine analogy of a brain schematic. Without the electrical and associated fields of the living brain AND nervous system, you have what is in the morgue.

Hearts and kidneys are tinkertoys!  I'm talking about the human nervous system!

as far as copying goes, all it take is one brilliant scientist with the solution, but whatever, I think it's poppycock for a very very very very  long time if ever, and really not worthy of too much focus, both because it's a practical distraction and will remain one beyond technical ability to "make it so" well into the future, and because it's not salient to the thread topic, which is radiation shielding...

imo, water, lunar regolith, and 3d printing (extrusion and sintering) will solve the hull issue. At that point its a matter of firing it them, (contained building blocks, in large numbers) off the moon into an assembly orbit (either lunar or Lagrangian), then filling the shell with living goo (us, etc.) and it's support systems, as well as fitting thrust on it that'll be sufficient to push all that inertia around. Done correctly, the hull  could be used for energy recovery as well. Done every more well, it could be fitted with a primary shield hull that's left empty until we reach a stopover at Titan, where it could be injected with hydrocarbons, which are even better than water at catpure of radiation. (remembering that this will be an interstellar journey, not a jaunt around the solar system). In that case, the water could simply be the ship's internal reservoir and secondary shielding. Of course, none of this is at all trivial and its many decades or centuries away, but whatever....

The sky isn't falling on pursuit of the dream, but when you live in the 15th century you can wish for personal horseless carriages and flying as if a bird all you like, though you won't be riding in one or floating around in the sky, although with sensible consideration you may see them come to fruition in 200 years or so.
