Andre

It is for EQMOD type of arrangement, bypassing the handbox?
Actually it needs a USB (slave) <--> RS232 at TTL level adapter, if the cable goes directly into the intelligent motor controller.

Commercial USB <--> RS232 adapter sends out the common RS232 level, not TTL level.

You must have a USB to serial adapter cable on the PC side.

Andre,

If your PC is going to connect to the handbox (right hand size RJ11), then a serial cable with RS232 level is needed. The wiring for the 6P4 RJ11 is here.

A USB <--> RS232 (probably like yours) will work, so long as it is supported by your computer's OS version.

I use the Serial to USB adapter (with the Prolific chip) and it works beautifully with my HEQ5-Pro and Starry Night 6 Plus.
