I think I might do this... been looking for a Star Party to go to while waiting for AHSP in WV.

How likely is it to have an electrical connection at the site?

There were electrical hookups at last October's party covering at least half of the field, if not more (the cables didn't reach to the far end, though).

That is a good thing, and more than many other venues have to offer. I don't know how I have missed this star party in the past.

Hey Sean,

As Scott said we had power in better than half the field. We actually had plenty with outlets left over. The Park has done a great job adding power for us.
The park is looking into adding more for at the other end of the field. Just a matter of logistics.

Thanks. I registered! Looking forward to it.

Having power their is a wonderful bonus! That will really help me out. Looking forward to imaging somewhere other than my white zone!

Just an update on the SPRING not sprint Staunton River Star Party.

The Closing date for registration is March 15th.

I am stress testing the Deep Space Diner runway lights to make sure they work properly. If you have been to the star party, you know of which I am speaking. :roflmao:

I went out and check out the observing field Sunday and was pleased to find it in good shape. Considering all of the snow that was on it and the rain that fell on it Friday. There are the normal soggy places on the eastern portion close to the welcome center, but the vast majority was firm. My shoes weren't wet on top. I hope the drier weather continues.

Just giving everyone an update.

Just registered tonight, Can't wait to use my scope again. It's been a rough few months for observing. Hope I haven't forgotten where all my favorite objects are. :)

I'm registered and looking forward to it! The October event was a blast. I spent most of my time doing astrophotography, many of the pics from which can be seen by following the link in my sig.

I've talked with the park twice today. Both times they said that the skies were sunny and no precip. Let's keep the good news going. we'll see everyone in two days.

There is a swap meet on Saturday morning. Bring your cool old stuff.

AstroGizmos, Southeastern Camera and Vernonscope are eager to meet everyone.

I'm so sorry I couldn't make it this year. Was the weather clear enough for observing on any of the nights--Thursday, maybe?
