From looking at pics of many 35mm Pans on the internet, there seems to be two or three versions...or maybe just two?
One has the eye lens raised and the other has the eye lens recessed. Is my memory correct? If so, it would seem like the recessed type would be a lot easier to use.
I'm just wondering if I am correct or not, and if I am what year were these types made?
Cheers,

Here's a pic I just found of a 35mm Panoptic I had in 2007, but the eyepiece was flawed, so I didn't keep it. Nevertheless, the top eye lens is recessed and the one I viewed through over a month ago was not recessed!
Here is a few links showing the different versions:

The one with the recessed eye lens would be a lot easier to view through with a lot less blackouts!
