Does anyone know if there is a book (or any other source) that has sketches of all the Messier Objects?

Stephen O'Meara, Deep-Sky Companions: The Messier Objects, Cambridge University Press

Don't hesitate to buy it. It is a beautiful book!

There's also The Messier Album by John Mallas and Evered Kreimer and Kenneth Glyn Jones' Messier's Nebulae and Star Clusters.

Until you get one of those books in your hands...here are just 3 excellent examples of websites where you can browse a full roster of Messier object sketches:

Cosmic Voyage by Bill Ferris - Deep Sky Sketches/Observations
Deep Sky Archive - Searchable by object
Visual Observation of Deep-Sky Objects by Kiminori Ikebe

Jcstarman,

He did not mention it but if you click on 'The Belt of Venus' in the Jeremy Perez post above that will take you to Jeremy's webpage and he has masterfully sketched the entire catalogue of Messier objects.

Frank :)

Yikes! Sorry Frank...my Messier gallery does have some gaps. Those gaps are overlapped by some Messier Marathon sketches, but I haven't merged things together yet...

O-Meara's book (already recommended to you) is excellent. I use the book almost everytime I sketch a Messier because he has such a good description, sketch, and keeps me straight on orientation.
