Greetings All!

Here's a drawing I made of Jupiter on 29-30 September. As can be seen there is a lot of detail in the NEB (see the strip drawing bellow). The STB is quite fragmented, and a dark section in the SSTB is much in evidence on the fol. side of the GRS.

There are also a number of white ovals in the SSTZ. The white rift is interesting as, at higher powers, it appears to be two such rifts close together.

Paul,

An outstanding and very accurate observation of Jupiter. The South Temperate Belt (STB) is very complex at this time, as you point out. The STB exhibits dark to dusky complexes along with bright sections and dusky columns. The NEB sectional sketch is impressive. You have recorded the majority of visible features over this region very nicely. The NEB bright rifts along with the NEB-S blue festoons are well rendered. The North Temperate Belt (NTB) dark projections are also very interesting. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Very nice sketch of jup the neb seems to have several almost diagonal rifts in it, i don't recall seeing this during other opposition seasons
