High Point Scientific has some items at good prices that interest me, but I have no experience dealing with them.

I found a couple of posts from several years ago saying they were a good company to deal with. Does anyone have anything to add?

Thanks,

Tom

I've ordered from them a couple of times within the past several months, no problem.

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from them. Most recently an 8" Edge HD. I called and asked a bunch of questions and they were very helpful. They are only an hour away from where I live so all of my stuff ships UPS and shows up next day.

I recently ordered a solar scope through High Point. They spent a lot of time on the phone with me holding my hand. Good people to deal with.

They got my vote!

I just ordered 28mm and 34mm Explore Scientific eyepieces from HPS, they were shipped the next day and arrived a few days later. My eyes are sensitive and I had a little problem with blackouts on the 34mm. I called and talked to Dave and he let me trade the ES eyepieces back in for a refund towards my dream widefield, the 21 Ethos. Not only were they great to deal with but they were knowledgeable enough to understand my issue. The 21 Ethos was shipped the same day and is arriving Monday. So fast shipping, great customer service, and technical assistance - they are the real deal. Oh also they were the only ones that had those 68 degree ES eyepieces in stock.

Been awhile, but I have bought from them a few times and found them very reliable. Of course, if Astronomics has it, I tend to buy there.

I've purchased from them many times with never a problem. I even purchased from them years ago when they were at a different location and under a different name with never a problem (I think they were Pocono Mountain Telescope, or something like that). I certainly would buy from them again.

Purchased from them a few times with no issues save one. The cap for my Pentax XW 7mm was not the Pentax cap but a replacement one that they had put on there, and it doesn't fit the top of the lens. That is my only disappointment, other than that, they've been helpful and great at answering questions and getting the product to me.

Like all the other commenters. I to have had very good experiences with High Point and feel solid in recommending them.....The previous recommendation (Jose) to verify stock is always wise

They're one of the outfits that does something big time for the industry...

Astronomics because of CN
Anacortes because of Astromart
Highpoint does a major display at NEAF
(other vendors come to NEAF too including OPT. I don't recall seeing Hands on Optics at NEAF this past year)

So these are all in the top ten in terms of who should get your business. I have a few others that I like for various purposes.

Let me add also that in the several times I dealt with them, it's been smooth, no hitches, and yes, they were good on the phone.

Ok, I'll through my twin pennies in as well and state they have been forthright, honest and proactive if there was a problem or if they saw a better way to do things. I have to appreciate that as a customer. Good bunch over there.

I'm sure they (Astronomics) ARE a pleasure to deal with IF they have the stuff you want in stock.
I've never had the chance to find out.
