Dear observers / sketchers,

my son made for me a special gift: An astronomical sketching book. It is small enough for easy handling at the telescope, has thick yellowish pages and a durable cover. I use it from now on for the most sketches. So you see here a sketch black on yellow.
I used my 8 cm Apo for this sketch. The overview image was done by 60x. The sun stood low but was very steady so I could use 120x for the details. This is rarely the case.

There are benefits to having both a son and a sun.
Nice white light sketches of those sunspots.

Very nice work--I like those insets of the sunspot groups. Your son scored big with that gift. :waytogo:
