The way it all fits, looks really good and most of all, safe and secure.

In that I live in Manhattan now. I keep my telescopes in a self storage facility and am streamlining everything for easy transport. All together and in cases.
A co-worker sold me his Pelican 1550 with padded inserts for $50.00 and I am going to use that for weights, tripod spreader, batteries, hold an old laptop, tool kit etc.
I just can't be spread out all the time running back into the house for this or that.
One thing, I cannot close the lid with the ADM saddle nuts on. The lid presses too much. So I have them stored to the side. The first thing I will do when I open the case will be to put them on before removing the mount.

I would point out that what I paid for the Pelican is substantially less expensive than the case made by JMI.
That's good to know, as those JMI cases can be quite pricey!

Good point! I could have bought that Mach 1 you are getting for the cost of the case!

Beautiful, but didn't the case cost more than the mount?
Pelican cases are on the pricey side.

I paid $120 for my Pelican case. Do you have a mount to sell for that price?

Had to go all the way back to the year 2002 to find that one didn't you Jim. Joe sold his dual axis drives in his next ad.

Does that count?
IMO a Pelican is overkill for a CG5. I've always used a Rubbermaid Action Packer and a foam camping mat for my CG5s. No problem.
That was my point - matching the storage solution to the value of the mount

I get your point about the cost of the Pelican. But the case can be used for my next mount by changing out the pluck foam. It fits the criteria I have as an urban dark site commuting apartment dwelling Manhattanite astronomer.
We all have our own demands and I have been illustrating how the Pelican met mine with it's suitcase grab by the handle design.
It also looks very cool.
