Hi.

This morning the sky was still clear but not for long. So I had to sketch the sun despite the low -23º C temperature. The sun reach my dome at 8:30am. I did my sketch and at 9am that was over for the rest of the day. The sun was very quiet this morning. Not much filaments, white spots and small proms.

Thank for your nice comments.

I'm just back from my dome for today's 27th sun. See it will be the last one for the next 11 days overcast... buh.

Don't worry. The meteo guys usually get it wrong. :elephdance: And perhaps you'll even have a tropical -20° tomorrow! Get your t-shirt! :pulpdnc:

Cheers!

How do you render that granulosity Andrè?
I've just begun in doing sketches and the technique I have used is not the most appropriate. I understand that you too render the sun in H-Alpha while I make my drawings in white light but your granulosity is finer and more appropriate. May be a better starting point for me.

Thanks guys. Michel, I'm on vacation until february 11th, but seems weather won't collaborate with me. Very sad. I will miss the sun very much.

Andrea. Go back in the messages down to august 13th page 20, look for the post from me and you will find all about my technique. But in white light you can't use a such granulation as its only visible in H-alpha.

Thank you André, it will be good as a starting point. After that I could always convince my wife for the need of a new scope :)
