So is it safe to assume that the hefty price tag that comes with the 11mm T1 is solely based on it's collector value and rarity?

After all a used 11mm T6 could be literally half the usual going price of the 11mm T1. I'm not making an accusation but simply asking a naive question. :question:

Pretty much. It is a good, sharp eyepiece. Not as prone to blackouts as the 13mm. It is still a fantastic DSO eyepiece.

I've looked through an 11mm T1 smoothie. The owner of the said EP was like "Hey, take a look through this", and I was waiting for something magical to happen because of the legendary status.

Hey, that's just me though. Others will love to have the 11mm T1 for a collector set or alone, as back in the day these were breakthrough eyepieces and others followed suit.

I wasn't overly impressed TBH. I much prefer my 14mm ES 100, as it gives me a HUGE IMMERSIVE VIEW and when people look through it I can hear the "Oohs and Ahhhs"... LOL! it gives me a slightly bigger TFOV that my previously owned 20mm ES 68 at a higher mag.

I love my 14mm ES 100 !!!! :yay:

Fellas, I've gone to an undriven Unistar mount and as you know the added weight can create balance difficulties.

I'm selling it for EXACTLY what I paid for it earlier this summer....minus 3% and shipping.

I understand. I have the two and I too I prefer the ES14. I agree that 11mm t1 is a collectors item and still an excellent eyepiece.

I had the excellent 9mm T1 and after compared it with my new ES 9mm 100° I preferred the ES not only for is immersive impression but also for is image quality that was better. Sold the 9mm T1.

I consider seriously to sell my eyepieces that I'm not using. This include my 11mm t1. I will decide if I keep my 3 ES or my Televue Widefield serie.

Curious Markus I never found kidney beaning on the 9mm T1. A little bit on 11mm T1. My ES does not.

At that price, I have to think the 11mm T1 is primarily a collectors item. I think it is safe to say that without the 11mm T1 Nagler and it Nagler brothers and sisters there would be not Ethos's and no ES 100 degree eyepieces.

Kidney Beaning is an interesting phenomenon, it seems to happen to some people much more often than others. It essentially never happens to me. I think it has to do with differences in our eyes, optically and geometrically but I have no idea what those differences are???
