What a beautiful photo!

A while ago I read a brief article about the Quechan 'dark animals of the Milky Way' seen in the southern hemisphere growing season.

The mosaic shows these shapes in the dark nebula or rifts very well: Crux is just above and left (east) of the small "toad", a symbol of crop fecundity; more to the right of Crux and the toad (and farther from the galactic center) is the sinuous "snake or serpent". To the left of Crux, Alpha and Beta Centaurus are "the eyes of the llama", marking the head of the mother llama whose body extends left and above a baby llama to the lower left. We're done with the llamas by the time we get to Scorpius, but a small fox trails east of the llamas. Somewhere a little more to the left, hard for me to see in the mosiac, are the "tinamou" birds that follow the toad around the sky. One of the tinamous might be the small dark cloud beneath Crux, the other is much farther east past the llamas and fox.

Does anyone know of other "constellations" like these identified within the dark clouds of the Milky Way?
